MG Unveils Next-Generation Plug-in Hybrid+, SolidCore Battery and Intelligent Driving Technologies
MG has revealed its latest technology roadmap at MG Tech Day, showcasing a range of next-generation innovations that will shape the brand's future electrified and intelligent vehicles. Designed with everyday drivers in mind, the new technologies focus on improving efficiency, performance, convenience and confidence behind the wheel.
Leading the announcements was MG's all-new Plug-in Hybrid+ powertrain, combining advanced hybrid engineering with intelligent electrification to deliver greater fuel efficiency, stronger performance and a quieter, more refined driving experience. The system automatically optimises how power is delivered, ensuring maximum efficiency whether driving in town, on country roads or at motorway speeds.
MG also confirmed that future Plug-in Hybrid+ models will feature its innovative SolidCore Battery technology. Built around an advanced semi-solid-state architecture, the battery provides more consistent power delivery, improved efficiency and enhanced performance across a wide range of temperatures and driving conditions. The technology is designed to reduce the impact of low battery charge and cold weather, giving drivers greater confidence throughout every journey.
The event also showcased MG's latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including next-generation one-touch parking technology capable of handling more than 300 parking scenarios, from parallel parking to complex, unmarked spaces. Looking ahead, Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) is set to debut in a new MG SUV from 2027, offering intelligent motorway driving assistance to further enhance convenience and safety on longer journeys.
Demonstrating its long-term vision, MG also highlighted ongoing Level 4 Robotaxi trials across Europe, the Middle East and China as the company continues to develop future autonomous driving technologies.
These latest developments reinforce MG's commitment to making advanced automotive technology more accessible, practical and affordable. The first vehicles featuring the new Plug-in Hybrid+ system are expected to arrive from 2027, marking another significant step in MG's journey towards the future of intelligent mobility.
